Scandinavian Fashion Inspiration

Known for their Danish pastries (Weinerbrød), charming jewelry brand Pandora, and their exceptionally innovative design and inventions, Denmark is the newest country we’re proud to announce that you can ShopandBox from now! It’s obvious that Danish design and aesthetic favours sleek silhouettes and streamlined appearances anywhere and in everything—evident in audio equipment brand Bang & Olufsen’s product design, and especially their apparel and minimalistic fashion style.

Our fashion inspiration mood board includes Copenhagen Cycle Chic: a blog filled with snapshots of super chic cyclists decked out in leather jackets/thick shawls/whatever the weather permits; former model and current fashion stylist & blogger Pernille Teisbaek’s lustworthy pictures on her blog and Instagram; and Blame It On Fashion—courtesy of the beautiful London-based Danish transplant Marie Hindkær Wolthers who’s also the Editor-in-Chief of Luellemag.com. If you have no idea what Scandinavian style translates to, take a look at some of the pictures below:

Thanks to our new Boxer Sapphire who’s based in Sønderborg, Denmark, here are some low- to high-end fashion apparel brands that you can ShopandBox to emulate the effortless style of a Scandinavian:

Vero Moda

Vero Moda

Vero Moda is almost like H&M but offers a larger variety of everyday staples like must-have loose-fitting tees, skinnies, and all-weather parkas etc. Prices range between 129.95 DKK to 449 DKK (about USD 18 to USD 65).

Bik Bok

If Vero Moda is the equivalent of H&M, Bik Bok is definitely a more laid-back Scandinavian version of Forever21 with a dash of minimalistic pieces (a must-have in all Danish apparel brands). We see hints of festival looks (tasseled ponchos, printed kimonos paired with denim shorts) juxtaposed with classic loose dresses in every colour (totally wearable at the workplace paired with a blazer, or for a casual weekend out.

What’s awesome about Bik Bok is their Inspiration page where you can take a look at how new arrivals are styled, interviews with local fashionistas, and what’s trending right now (denim in everything, flowy white dresses a la Coachella vibe).

Envii

Think edgy, all-black/white outfits (at most there will be hints of grey, dark blue, faded pastels) paired with messy bed-head hair and minimal makeup for the natural look. If your look is perfectly described in the previous sentence, you’ll be very interested in what Envii has to offer.

Our favourite Danish blogger Pernille Teisbaek (mentioned above) has collaborated with Envii to create 17 pieces including denim tops, tank tops, front-tied dresses and skirts. Here are a few that we love:

It also boasts two apparel lines made with organic cotton and sustainable materials respectively—under their corporate initiative called The Good Project. Priced slightly more than their fashion corporation counterparts, Samsøe & Samsøe offers beautiful men and women’s apparel that are stylish and simple, and is essentially what you imagine a well-dressed Scandinavian to be decked in—well-designed threads with a slick pair of boots.

Samsoe

Every piece pairs perfectly well with others in their store, and you can never go wrong with classic items like a well-tailored jacket or a pebbled leather clutch bag that you can use day in and day out.

If you’re not sure what other items you’d like to ShopandBox from Denmark (to make every shipping cent worthwhile), reach out to Boxer Sapphire in your chatbox at the bottom of your order page as she will be glad to point out brands and stores that you probably haven’t heard of!

Happy Shopping!
