What is the Difference Between LORAC Mega Pro 1 and 2?

When the limited edition LORAC Mega Pro Palette was released last year, makeup junkies were ecstatic to find that they could get their hands on 32 amazing light to mid-tone shades for only USD 59 (to put it into perspective, Urban Decay’s Naked palette with 12 shades retails for USD 54). Some were letdown that the Mega Pro Palette sold out so quickly that they barely had time to submit their orders to our Boxers before the highly popular palette was swiped off Amazon and LORAC.

But now with the recent announcement onΒ Ulta’s Instagram post featuring the successor LORAC Mega Pro 2 Palette‘s arrival this 2015 during the “holiday period”, it seems like this palette is one to watch out for during the end of this year.

But what are the differences between both palettes, you might ask?

For one, LORAC Mega Pro Palette has 16 matte and shimmery shades, 4 of which are from LORAC Pro Palette 1 and 2 (Cream, Espresso, White, and Black). However, the LORAC Mega Pro 2 Palette is offering all-new shades that are not similar or repeats from either of its previous palettes, seemingly a variety of pearly whites, ecrus and a few shimmery hues as well. Here are the eyeshadow colours in the newest palette:

Row 1: Porcelain, Custard, Tawny, Burlap, Melon, Tangerine, Saddle, Forest

Row 2: Bisque, Lavender, Purple, Sorbet, Goji, Cabernet, Ash, Black

Row 3: Sugar, Chiffon, Prosecco, Soft Plum, Cinnamon, Sandstone, Gunmetal, Blue Quartz

Row 4: Moonlight, Seashell, Peony, Dark Sienna, Olivine, Gold Leaf, Black Ivy

Unlike the LORAC Mega Pro Palette, the newest offering will be available exclusively in Ulta storesΒ when it’s released, likely for the first few weeks before the palette is available in other retailers/stores. As last year’s palette was out by October, we’re speculating that this latest one might just be out by September (hopefully!)

So if you’re already planning on how to use this palette for your eye looks, add it into your ShopandBox wishlist first and we’ll be sure to send an Instagram shoutout when we get a dropdate for this festive palette beforehand.
