6 Facial Oils To Try For A Glowing Complexion

If you thought that facial oils cause nothing but breakouts on your skin (especially if you’ve got combination/oily skin), you’ve got it all wrong from day one – facial oils actually have wealth of benefits that can keep your skin vibrant and flawless. Facial oils have an extensive history dating back to 40,000 years ago, with Egyptians using plant-based oils for their face and even as a form of payment.

There’s a difference between a variety of oils, whether argan or coconut, but most botanical oils have potent antioxidants and an ability to pass through the fatty layer of the skin easily, hence making your skin plump with moisture. Another fun fact about facial oils is that it actually helps active ingredients in your serums/essences/creams to absorb deep into the skin without irritating the surface. If celebrities such as Charlize Theron and Catherine Zeta-Jones swear by the brilliance of argan oil, it’s probably high time you start adding this to your beauty routine!

For the most part, oils will help keep your skin moisturized. That is where they’re going to shine. Moisturized skin is happier, softer, and is able to heal itself more easily. Certain oils will have a few small extra benefits, like antioxidents and trans-retinoic acid (rosehip oil).
